The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guyana, H.E. Samuel Rudolph
Insanally, began today a three days official visit to the Republic
of Cuba executing an invitation of his Cuban counterpart H.E.
Felipe Pérez Roque.During the visit, both Ministers will
sustain work meetings, occasion in which the state of the bilateral
issues will be revised, as well as other topics of common interest
of regional and international character.Guyana and Cuba established
diplomatic relationships on December 8, 1972.
The date was remembered last year, during the Summit Cuba-CARICOM
for the Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationships
with countries of this Community, with the participation of
the President of Guyana H.E. Bharrat Jagdeo, among other leaders
of the Caribbean Community.Both countries sustain deep ties
of friendship and cooperation, which will be strengthened during
this visit.
Next Monday Minister Insanally, will headed the Guyana delegation
to the U.N. Conference on Desertification and drought taken
place in Havana. Embassy of the Republic of Cuba.
