President and Opposition Leader discuss Local Gov't Election

His Excellency President Bharrat Jagdeo and Leader of the Opposition Mr. Robert Corbin, M.P., met today in the President’s office to discuss a number of issues of mutual concern.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon and Presidential Adviser Gail Teixeira were present along with PNCR Executive Mr. Allan Munroe and PNCR Chairman, Mr. Cammie Ramsaroop who accompanied Mr. Corbin.

Other Government Officials were also part of the meeting held at the Office of the President, May 25, 2010.
Of primary concern was the issue of local government reform and movement on the local government bills which both the President and the Leader of the Opposition agreed would be resolved at the Parliamentary Special Select Committee level and that this committee should resume meeting.
In the course of the meeting other matters were raised and some of which would be followed up accordingly.
